Understanding how SlabTracked works with CGC and PSA

CGC vs PSA Terminology

CGC and PSA use different terminology for the same concepts. Here's a mapping to avoid confusion:

How Syncing Works

SlabTracked syncs your submissions through the Chrome extension. The extension uses your existing CGC/PSA login session in Chrome — we never see or store your passwords, and there are no API keys to configure.

  • Automatic sync — Runs every 30 minutes in the background while Chrome is open.
  • Force sync — Click the extension icon anytime to sync immediately.
  • What syncs — Submission statuses, grades, cert numbers, and cert images as they become available.
  • Notifications — Get alerts by email, Telegram, or Discord when a status changes. Configure them in Settings → Notifications.

How Client Portals Work

For Dealers

When you set up a dealer account, you get two customer-facing pages:

  • Submit Form (/submit/your-slug) — Customers enter their items for grading. Each submission creates a customer record and items are added to your queue.
  • Store Page (/store/your-slug) — Public landing page for your business with your branding, services, and submission form link.
  • Tracking Link (/track/token) — Each customer gets a unique tracking URL emailed to them. They can see their items' current status without logging in.

For Customers

When you submit items through a dealer's form, here's what happens:

  1. Submit Items — Fill out the dealer's submission form with your books/cards
  2. Receive Tracking Link — Get a unique URL to track your submission status
  3. Dealer Batches — Your dealer groups items into batches and submits to CGC/PSA
  4. Status Updates — Track progress: Pending Batch → Batched → Submitted → Received → Grading → Complete
  5. Results — See grades and cert numbers once items are graded and returned

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my CGC invoice number look different from PSA?
CGC labels your batch with an Invoice Number; PSA uses an Order Number. They serve the same purpose — your batch tracking ID. You may also see a Submission Number (CGC) or Submission ID (PSA), which is assigned before payment.
What is the difference between a cert number and an invoice or order number?
An invoice number (CGC) or order number (PSA) tracks your entire batch. A cert number is assigned to each individual graded item. One batch can contain many cert numbers.
How do tracking links work?
Each customer gets a unique token-based URL. No login needed. The link shows their items, current status, and grades when available.
Can customers see other people's submissions?
No. Each tracking link only shows that specific customer's items. Dealers can see all customers.
What happens when CGC/PSA status changes?
The Chrome extension syncs status changes every 30 minutes. Dealers see updates on their dashboard, customers see updates via their tracking link, and you can get instant alerts by email, Telegram, or Discord.
Do I need to give SlabTracked my CGC or PSA password?
No. The Chrome extension uses your existing login session in Chrome. Your credentials never leave your browser.
